May 2026 Newsletter

We love, serve, and gather in Christ.

Pastor’s Corner

Friends -

The month of May brings many beautiful things for all of us! (Especially if you live or Worship in Speedway!!). May flowers, Memorial Day weekend, worship time change May 3, and Mother's Day!

I believe we will once again give out a carnation to all the women of the congregations. I hope you can all join me in sharing loving memories of the grace and love of your own mother.

My mom passed in 2014, and I miss her every day! I go to her grave site every year on 3 occasions: Mother’s Day (May 10th), Memorial day and her July birthday! I take out a silk flower arrangement to place on her tombstone!! I love doing this and it brings me joy celebrating!

Seeing her tombstone reminds me of all of our tombstone! There will be two years we have no control over...our birth year and death year. What we do have control over is the dash that goes in between those two dates of our birth and death.

I believe my mom had a "full" dash.... I'm working on my dash/life and hope and pray you are as well! If it is to be, it is up to me!! (10 most important two letter words!)

God bless you,

Pastor Doug

Worship Time Change:

Per the Shared Ministry Agreement, we switch worship times every four months! Starting May 3rd:

  • Faith Lutheran Church 9am

  • St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church 11am

Thank you, one and all, for your flexibility and understanding. As always, I remind you that if the other time slot works for you on a “given” day, you may certainly worship at the other church as many of you have done.

It’s the same God!
