February 2026 Newsletter

We love, serve, and gather in Christ.

Pastor’s Corner

Friends-

I love a Christmas hymn, whose name I can never remember, but has lyrics that go: "Oh the weather outside is frightful..." This song has been banned by many radio stations.

The lyrics portray a guy trying to talk his date into staying at his house because of bad weather! In any case, according to the song, the weather is getting bad outside!

I can't think of anything that affects our everyday lives, everywhere, than the weather! We would love to have control over the weather, wouldn't we?? I'd love to stop these winter storms from coming in on Saturday evenings... CONSISTENTLY!!! I mean, come on, Lord, there are 6 other nights!

But, this is Indiana, and no matter this cold month of February, we know it will change. In fact, I say that all the time, “just wait, it will change!"

As we head into the Lenten season and prepare our hearts, thank God for Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever!!" And, all God's people said Amen!"

Pastor Doug

Council Meeting Highlights

Discussion about building repairs (parking lot sealing, sign replacement and ceiling repair).

Went over Lent schedule and expectations regarding offerings giving.

Annual Congregational meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 15, 2026, after service.

Wednesday night Zoom/Virtual Bible Study

Weekday Zoom Bible Study is led by Pastor Doug. EVERYONE IS WELCOME AND INVITED! Each week the Zoom link is sent out on Wednesday.

Bible study will stop for Lent. February 11th will be the last Bible study until after Easter.

The Wednesday night Bible study is studying the Bible lessons for the coming Sunday. Come join the conversation.

Faith Forum

Faith Formation: Currently, we are studying "Wired Word", a small group study on current trends from a Biblical perspective.

All are welcomed! We meet each Sunday evening, 7 pm, on Zoom.

This is a fun, lighthearted look at our faith journey. The Zoom link is sent out with the Sunday morning email.

Food Pantry Date

Faith Lutheran Church provided food to 481 families which included 2,178 people in 2025!

What a blessing to so many people…old and young.

Faith’s Food Pantry Program is a choice program where citizens have been able to choose as many as 30 items from a list of at least 40 items each month. Providing so many non-perishable items to each family allows them to use their own funds to purchase other basics like milk, bread, meat, etc.

None of this would be possible with so many volunteers working very hard behind the scenes.

2026 brings new opportunities to enhance Faith’s food pantry program and assist those who lack the resources to obtain the necessary food for their families.

Faith Giving Information

Faithful Faith Members...with the various giving options (traditional envelopes, direct deposit, Vanco Mobile or Vanco On-line via link from Faith’s website), we have reduced the number of offering envelopes for the congregation. Please let the church office know.
