March 2026 Newsletter

We love, serve, and gather in Christ.

Pastor’s Corner

Friends:

The 25th edition of the Winter Olympics has been a lot of fun to watch. I hope you, and your family, have been able to see the competition!

At this writing, mid-Feb, the US ranks third in the Gold medal count. This year I have noted the difference in watching speed skiing and skating and the athleticism needed, verses something like Curling! But do not let that fool you, the Curling competitors are also in great shape.

Sometimes what we see on the outside does not match what's going on inside! This is the Old Testament story 1 Samuel 16:7. When David is picked as King the Bible says "The world looks on the outside, The Lord looks upon the heart!"

May your heart be refreshed in the grace and love of God during this Lenten season and soon coming Easter!

God bless you, Pastor Doug

Your Council

  • Missy Schroeder, Indiana-Kentucky Synod, was a guest as at the beginning of council meeting. She discussed that St. Andrews is very early in their process, having just voted Sunday, 2/15/26 to pursue a Holy Closure. She met with us to discuss how we can help in this process.

  • Maintenance issues were discussed and where in the process. This included: crack in the sanctuary ceiling, parking lot resurfacing, and sign replacement.

  • We have a Joint Council meeting coming up on March 2nd at 7pm, via zoom, with St. Andrews. These meetings are held quartly per our Shared Ministry agreement.

  • Ciara Kriar will be introducing children and family time during worship, where she or another member will read a book with the children in attendance. She is also holding a meeting after church on March 8th, to get more people involved in this ministry.

Food Pantry

February Food Pantry was certainly busy with 12 volunteers moving and shaking things up with a smile on their faces! Faith’s Food Pantry team is awesome! They collaborate, coordinate, and communicate about different ideas, yet always how to take care of the community.

A month or two ago, Emily Ingram, Ciara Krier, and our newest volunteer, Sarah, a Wayne Township teacher, collaborated and discussed how to educate the community on various types of food to substitute, recipe ideas, introduction of new foods, and how to use different items in various dishes. It was amazing to watch them…our newest volunteers…and listen to their passion and initiatives.

Lori Becker continues to buy our regular food items, Ron Graff and Vince Draper volunteer to help all the food pantries load and deliver Faith’s Coalition monthly pickups to the bldg., and Janice and Nikki Lee along with Debbie and Steve Hacker cover the Gleaners order pickups. Then, once a month we all come together, as many as 17 volunteers, to help over 200 people (young and old) every month receive food to help nourish their bodies. Faith couldnt provide as much food as we do without the trusty financial donors too along with the Hendricks County Food Pantry Coalition annual $$ donation.

The community is blessed thanks to each person. God bless! The Food Pantry Team

The next food pantry will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9 11am. We ask you to please prayerfully consider volunteering or financially supporting us as we serve our neighbors. All volunteers are welcome and needed!
